Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry

Department of Pharmaceutical chemistry is a faculty’s supporting unit which implements education, teaching and learning, research, and community services in the sciences concerning with as described in each laboratories of that department.
1. Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry
It is lead by Dr. Pudjono, SU., Apt. It has a responsibility to develop the sciences which are related to drug production, raw material of medicines either by synthesis or by biosynthesis, various efforts to increase the products of drug and its raw material, qualitative and Quantitative-Structure Activity Relationship (QSAR), molecule modification of drug to improve its activity or to reduce its toxicity, influences of drug and its raw material, isolate, or treatment toward biological activity and biological system. Laboratory of Medicinal Chemistry coordinates some laboratories, namely: Organic Chemistry Laboratory; Drug Synthesis Laboratory; Biochemistry Laboratory; Pharmaco-chemistry Laboratory; Molecular Biology Laboratory; and Immunology Laboratory.
2. Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry
It is lead by Prof. Dr. Sudjadi, MS, Apt. It has a responsibility to develop the sciences which are related to the analytical method comparison; the development of analytical method; application an analytical method for the pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic analyses in many formulations and their metabolites; Identification (qualitatively and quantitatively) of isolate and synthesis as well as their degradation products. Laboratory of Analytical Chemistry coordinates some laboratories, namely: The Laboratory of Qualitative Analytical Chemistry; Quantitative Analytical Chemistry; Drug, Food, and Cosmetic Analyses, Instrumental Analysis.
